18K Yellow Gold & Red Mediterranean OxBlood Coral Earrings & Ring, c. 1950
SOLD Vintage suite of fine natural oxblood red coral earrings and matching ring all in 18K. This unusual and rare suite of oxblood coral ring and earrings is circa 1950. The earrings: from deep, likely Mediterranean waters comes an excellently matched pair of button shaped corals measuring 15.3 mm. set in 18K yellow gold weighing 27.54 grams.
These are also superly matched.
Accompanying these earrings is a matching ring centering a 14.3 mm. button coral, equally red. The 18K yellow gold ring weighs 17.9 grams.
Both the ring and the earrings are in excellent condition and appear to have rarely been worn. They manifest a color that is extremely difficult to find in the. market. In fact, these particular three stones are as far from your "garden variety" coral as one can get.
Harry Winston would have selected this material because it is so red and so rare.
The button shaped natural red coral in both the earrings and the ring are well matched in their vivid red color. The unusual and well made 18K yellow gold settings sets off the red color creating a distinctive suite and fine red coral.
We will sell the ring and earrings individually.
