J. E. Caldwell Star Sapphire and Diamond Antique Platinum Ring, circa 19
Art Deco platinum, diamond and fine natural Star Sapphire ring by the famous American jewelry House of J. E. Caldwell. The sapphire displays a pleasing light to medium blue color and the star is evident. The rays, called asterism, start at the top of the stone and reach down to the girdle - they are bright and clearly seen.
The natural sapphire weighs an estimated 7 carats. The 6 accenting diamonds on the shoulders of this platinum ring are an unusual fancy cut called, Swiss cuts - seen frequently in Art Deco jewelry.
All of the diamonds match well in their fancy cut and their color and clarity. The diamonds are estimated to be H (near colorless), and very slightly included (VS1) and weigh .60 cts. The ring is signed and numbered and comes with the original boxes. This ring is a 8 and can be resized.
