Antique Diamond and Platinum Cross, Edwardian, circa 1910
Antique cross in platinum with fine European cut diamonds. This white on white composition is classically Edwardian - a graceful period in jewelry making which primarily used the new metal platinum. The diamonds are estimated to weight 1.45 cts. These white European cut diamonds are all near colorless (H/I), and very slightly included (VS).
The open cut out work allows the color of the background skin or fabric to show. The cross with the matching bale is 2 inches long and the white gold chain (from the same time period but not matching), is 23 inches long. This cross is in fine condition and an excellent example of its kind.
