Tiffany & Co. 18K Matching Set of Two Pair of Earrings, c. 1960
Donald Claflin, an important designer for Tiffany, designed these earrings in the mid -20th century. The earrings can be worn three different ways. The two pair of vintage earrings are both in 18K - one is carnelian set in 18K yellow gold surrounding white (probably walrus) bone also set in 18K. The other is identical but with green onyx. They are both signed on the verso: Tiffany & Co. and 18K.
The earrings are 1.75 inches in diameter. they are both in fine condition. Both sets are now a clip-on for a non pierced ear and can be converted to accommodate a pierced ear. Wear one color or mix them for a distinctive look.
These vintage earrings are rare in the market today, and it is still rarer to find and own two pair that compliment each other.
We will, upon request, sell one or both pairs of these highly unusual vintage earrings.
Donald Claflin (1935-1979) was a noted American jewelry designer most associated with the colorful designs he created for Tiffany & Co.
