We sometimes encounter the phrase - "fine jewelry". In the few instances in which it is true, it is fine for a reason - usually due to the fact that the design in concert with the craftsmanship encapsulates the most classic vocabulary of forms emanating from a particular time period.
Such is the case for this remarkable retro (also referred to as Art Moderne), brooch which proudly and boldly displays the best of tubo de gas (gas pipe) French jewelry. This type of work was popular during the 1940's.
