Very Fine Cat's Eye Chrysoberyl, Diamond and Platinum Ring.
Very fine natural cat's eye chrysoberyl, white diamond and platinum vintage ring. The center oval stone is a fine natural golden honey/green cat's eye chrysoberyl. It is called a cat's eye because of an unusual characteristic, when a light illuminates the gem, a band or slit moves across the stone which looks like a cat's eye. Sometimes it appears as though the eye is opening and closing. This chatoyancy, happens because the light is reflected off parallel needle-like inclusions within the stone.
This stone, with a fine depth of color and a fine and distinct cat's eye. The stone is estimated to weighs 1.67 cts.
