Edwardian Platinum, Diamond and Certified Unheated Sapphire Ring by Marcus & Co.
Edwardian platinum ring by Marcus & Co., crafted in 1915 in the United States. The ring features a central cushion-cut vivid bright blue and clean sapphire estimated to weigh .85 carats, and surrounded by 44 old European cut diamonds estimated to weigh 2.4 carats. The Sapphire is accompanied by a certificate from A.G.L. (American Gemological Laboratories) stating it is a natural unheated sapphire from the Pailin region. Natural unheated sapphires from this region are difficult to obtain and are desirable as the sapphires usually display a fine very vivid blue color.
The diamonds are white, with an estimated color grade of I (near colorless) to L (exhibiting a slight tint) color grade and VS (very slightly included) clarity. The intricate design showcases milgrain detailing. The ring is in fine condition, weighs 6.3 grams and is a size 6.5, with the option to resize.
Marcus and Company is quite collected today for their outstanding quality. It was an important early 20th Century Jewelry House which attracted a fine clientele including celebrities, and politicians such as John D. Rockefeller.
Our model is a medium to large size lady.

Over the decades of our stewardship as a small but exemplary purveyor of the jeweler's art, we have strived to offer a fine and authentic selection, in excellent condition, of collectible jewels from all highly sought time periods at competitive prices and even lower prices, if possible. In the process we have had the extraordinary good fortune of meeting remarkable people - some collectors, others just extremely interesting individuals who have taken the time and effort to examine their lives and select things that tend to make them smile, or admire, or just wonder at the exciting endlessly creative and nuanced panoply of jeweled artifacts.
