Cartier Paris 18K Yellow Gold and Diamond Maillon Panthere Vintage Cufflinks
Diamond and 18K yellow gold cufflinks Maillon Panthere Stirrup style, signed and number Cartier Paris. These are circa 1980 and in very fine condition. They have a substantial weight of 13.7 grams.
All twenty of the fine small brilliant cut diamonds, amounting to 0.50 cts., are set on one side of the cufflink that will "show" on the outside of the cuff when worn. Of course, the side of just gold is perfect to be worn on the outside for those times one wants to be understated. The diamonds are estimated to be at the high end of near colorless, F/G, and a clarity grade of VVS2 to VS1, very very slightly included to the second degree to very slightly included to the first degree.
As would only be "de rigueur" with Cartier design, our photos show a closure/opening that is ingenious with one side of the base of the triangle snapping shut to close the triangle around the edge of the cuff, or releasing to open the triangle so that the cufflink opens. Tres chic, Tres Cartier.
