Antique Long Pendant Style Fine Amethyst and Yellow Gold Earrings, c. 1880.
Long and dramatic 19th Century Amethyst Earrings. The deep purple natural amethysts possess an estimated 68 cts of fine well matched amethysts. The long pear cut stones weigh an estimated 28 cts. each. These earrings are in fine condition, and are 3.75 inches in length. These earrings, including the posts possess no marks, but they have been acid tested and are 14K, 58.5% gold. The earring clutches are also not marked, but acid tests to be 18K.
The earring posts were probably updated and added at a later date. The amethysts match well in their fine purple color, and their lack of visible inclusions to the naked eye.
