Native American Vintage Natural Turquoise and Silver Very Large Bangle Bracelet.
SOLDDramatic large natural Turquoise and silver vintage bangle bracelet probably Navajo. At a weight of nearly 6 troy ounces and with a "shoreline" of nearly 9.5 inches of bright blue turquoise. This bangle was made to showcase a very fine large piece of blue turquoise. Well hand crafted, this is an excellent example of American Southwestern jewelry. The three quarters oval bangle with an easily discernible "right triangle" in which there is a right angle and a pair of acute angles gives the term native American style new meaning and even today new license to discover dramatic forms, hold accents and above all unapologetic ways of slicing the gordian knot of predictable fashion.
This turquoise is probably from the Morenci mines in Arizona, these mines are now closed. Morenci turquoise is famous and desirable because of its deep blue color. due to the high amounts of copper. This type of turquoise also can have deposits of "fool's gold". These stones are more sought after and harder to locate. Our stone has these gold deposits.
Turquoise is only found in a few places around the world in arid climates primarily in Egypt and Southwestern United States. This piece of turquoise has no fishers or cracks. The bangle bears no marks and acid tests to be silver (925).
