Art Deco Platinum, Diamond, Onyx and Natural Pearl Pendant Necklace, c. 1920. The fancy cut onyx which were cut precisely for this exquisite antique pendant are rimmed with 74 European cut diamonds set in miligrained platinum edges. The estimated diamond weight is 1.15 cts., suspended at the bottom is a natural saltwater pearl.
The pendant is 2 7/8th inches long, the platinum chain is 19.5 inches long, with a jump ring so that the necklace can be worn at a shorter length of 16 inches.
Although this is certainly not a composition that one would call Edwardian - with its romantic bow motif, it is a very early Art Deco design in black and white with geometric shapes. All original and in excellent condition
