Platinum, Diamond and Ruby Vintage Art Deco Ring, circa 1938
Diamond, Ruby and Platinum ring made early to mid 20th century. This is a finely made platinum ring with 62 bead set well matched brilliant cut fine diamonds totaling an estimated 1.85 cts. The diamonds are all graded to be approximately H, near colorless, and very slightly included, VS1. The 22 fine natural vivid red rubies (probably from Burma), are channel set, and well matched in color and clarity. The estimated weight of the rubies is 1.10 cts. Totally there are 2.95 cts. of fine stones. The ring is unmarked, and acid tests platinum. The ring is a size 7.5 and can be resized.
The ring is not just flat but slightly graduates out off the finger creating a three dimensional quality; that, with the strong color contrast of the brilliant white and vivid red come together to create a fine late Art Deco statement.
